Home / Judges

Jessup Judges are the backbone of the Competition. Every year hundreds of legal scholars and practitioners volunteer to score written and oral submissions and thus make the Jessup possible.

As we strive to deliver the best experience to our participants, we encourage judges with prior experience in public international law (whether professional or academic) to apply.

Judge Registration

Thank you for your interest in judging the Uzbek National Rounds of the Jessup Competition!

The application process is quite simple, and will not take a lot of your time.

First, please fill in the form below or get in touch with the National Administrator via email (salim.yusupov@gmail.com). Once your application is reviewed, our team will contact you by email with the confirmation, and further clarifications in order to make your judging experience as comfortable as possible.

However, we ask you to keep in mind, that we will not be able to confirm all the applications since the Uzbek National Rounds are quite small. If your application is not confirmed, we will do our best to let you know as soon as possible.

We also advise you to consult with the ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ section below, which contains essential information regarding the support which the National Administration can provide you with.

The registration form will become available in September 2019.

However, we do recognise that international judges require more time to make travel arrangements. Therefore, you are very welcome to contact the National Administrator via salim.yusupov@gmail.com.

Unfortunately, at the current stage, we do not possess sufficient funding to provide travel grants for the judges. However, we have arranged a discounted rate with a hotel in Tashkent.

Uzbekistan has a visa-free regime with over 100 countries of the World.
Please refer to the website of Ministry of Foreign Affairs to see if you need a visa. If you do, we will be able to provide you with an invitation letter, as well as apply for your visa from within Uzbekistan.

If you have an affiliation with one of the competing Universities or participants, please do let us know in advance.

The affiliations include, but are not limited to employment, personal affection towards a participant, previous experience in coaching or judging the same team in the previous years. However, being alumni of the University does not create a conflict.
