Doniyor became the part of the TSUL’s Jessup team in 2018. Their team was ranked third in the National Championship and was invited to the International Rounds as an Exhibition Team. In addition to competing against other exhibition teams, Doniyor served as a bailiff for a number of rounds.
Why Jessup?
Jessup, in first sight, is the world, where I see the real seriously conducted work, where we do comprehensive research on one certain sphere as a real International Lawyers preparing presentation before the ICJ. Besides these, Jessup develops the skills of advocacy both in writing part and oral presentation. Lastly, it gives us feel how important team work in our career as a lawyer and enables to find real patient friends who fight altogether in the battle field of Jessup in National and International Rounds 🙂
How has Jessup experience changed you?
Before joining to the team and participating in Jessup, I totally believed that the lawyer need to know the norm of law deeply and well enough. However, Jessup cleared me that not only norms are adequate tools to be the best among the best, but skills like: legal reasoning, legal advocacy, skeptical and analytical thinking, legal persuading, academic writing and etc.
What was the most memorable moment of your participation in the Jessup?
I had a marvelous time during participation in Jessup and the most were the moments how the team worked two three days without any rest, interrelations between other members in difficult time and of course participation in International Rounds of Jessup in 2019 in Washington DC.
What advice would you give to the future generations of Jessup participants?
I would like my best wishes to all future generation who will take this honorable duty as to present Universities in National Rounds and as well as Uzbekistan in International Rounds, before this taking deep breath and patience on work, thinking only positively that Jessup is one big world inside of this World and never forget that it gives all generations appointed results better that expected.
